Mr. Goodman is the Founder & Chairman of ECG Consulting Group. He specializes in strategic market planning, product commercialization, business plan development and new venture planning in the energy, material, industrial and consumer industries. Mr. Goodman's clients include energy service and equipment providers, power system original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), consumer product manufacturers, utilities, materials manufacturers and emerging growth companies.
At ECG, during the past 25 years, Mr. Goodman has worked for many rapidly growing companies and successful new ventures evaluating and commercializing a wide variety of new technologies, products and services. His work frequently involved assessing market opportunities, determining revenue/profit potential, developing commercialization strategies and negotiating joint venture/licensing agreements. Mr. Goodman has extensive experience in developing strategic and implementation plans which address market development, business strategy, sales, distribution, operations management and financing issues.
Prior to founding ECG, Mr. Goodman was Adjunct Associate Professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute teaching marketing, management and strategic planning in both the full-time and Management Development programs. He also served as the Associate Director of the Regional Advancement Service of the State University of New York Foundation to promote economic development in New York State. Earlier in his career, Mr. Goodman was Founder & President of Furnapco, Inc., a discount household furnishings and appliance retailer and prior to that, served as Vice President & General Merchandise Manager of Union-Fern Inc., responsible for store management and merchandise management for a chain of 13 home furnishings stores.
Mr. Goodman currently serves on several Boards of Directors. He is a Board Member and past President of the Harvard Business School Association of Eastern New York and the Harvard University Club of Eastern New York. He has also served as a Regional Director of Harvard Alumni Association, Member of Executive Committee & Treasurer, Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, and Director, New York State Enterprises for the Handicapped.
Mr. Goodman has a B.A. degree from Williams College and an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School.
