Mr. Mark C. Lyons is a Research Analyst at ECG specializing in technology assessment and market research for firms in the energy, instrumentation and industrials markets.

At ECG, Mark has worked on a variety of projects, including market, customer, competitive & technology assessments, identification of acquisition opportunities, commercialization of energy technologies, evaluation of instrumentation growth opportunities and addressing strategic planning issues. His project involvement has been with clients focused on addressing strategic, market & sales planning issues in the instrumentation, renewable, and oil & gas industries.

Mr. Lyons is currently an advisor of Marketing and Strategy at MICROrganic Technologies Inc. a new business venture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute focused on commercializing organic waste to energy solutions.  The company is currently securing funding and developing intellectual property.

At MICROrganic, Mark is responsible for business plan development, strategic partnerships, funding, market & competitive intelligence and recruiting new talent.  He is involved with day to day operations while the company grows through technology & market development into commercial products.

Mr. Lyons recently completed report entitled, Grid Scale Energy Storage Market: Competitive Assessment for the NY-BEST (Battery Energy Storage Technology) Consortium.  The 6-month project assessed the ability for each technology to meet market demands by application.  He completed combination of primary and secondary research including interviews with GE, FIAMM, NGK Insulators and other world leading energy storage companies.

Prior to ECG, Mr. Lyons has worked in sales, operations and installation functions for Precision Glass & Aluminum Inc. a leading area provider of glass and aluminum solutions to the commercial and residential construction markets.

Mr. Lyons is an MBA candidate at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and completed his B.S. degree in Business Administration from The College of Saint Rose.  He is a member of Delta Mu Delta, an international business honor society and is an active member of Net Impact. Currently, he is serving on the Board of Directors for the American Marketing Association Albany Chapter as Vice President of Finance.
